Dinosaur Provincial Park

Dinosaur Provincial Park located in the Southeast of Calgary in the valley of Red Deer River, is reputed for its richest fossils of dinosaurs in the world. Fossils of more than 500 species of life ranging from large dinosaurs to even microscopic fern have been discovered here earning it the title of UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 1979. This park has a visitor’s centre which showcases fossils, dinosaurs as well as highlighting the natural geology of the park. The badlands here and the riparian habitats near the river also add to the heritage of this location and thus attracting wide number of tourists throughout the year.
