Red Fort

The Red fort or the Lal Qila of Delhi, built by Shah Jahan, holds utmost historical essence making it prominent amongst the common masses. This fort is known to have served as the residence of the Mughal Emperors. Lying along the Yamuna River, the Red fort has been going through continual modifications since years. The usage of red sandstone in its construction contributes highly to its uniqueness. The defence walls encircling the Fort are embedded with turrets and bastions. The heavy architecture and ornamentation with the use of marble, floral decorations and double domes are wonder-striking.

Apart from being the largest monument in old Delhi, the Red Fort holds high national importance and attracts thousands of tourists every year. A light-and-sound show describing the Mughal History is at present a happening attraction amongst the visitors.
