Udhampur

Udhampur is a city in the Udhampur District of Jammu and Kashmir and is near to Srinagar. It is the second largest city in the region of Jammu and is named after Raja Udham Singh. Udhampur is important as it is the headquarters of Northern Command of the Indian Army along with a Forward Base of the Air Force.

There are a lot of places to see here because Udhampur city and the adjoining areas are rich in history and culture of centuries. The most notable things to see here is Vaishnodevi Temple, Shivkhori cave shrine, Bhimgarh Fort, Mansar Lake, Patnitop Hill resort, Sanasar, Kali Mata Mandir and Pancheri.

Udhampur is connected to Srinagar by the National Highway 1A.
