Lal Bagh

Lal Bagh is in Bangalore, the capital and the largest city of Karnataka state in India. The plan for Lal Bagh was formed by Hyder Ali, the ruler of Mysore during the 17th century and was completed by his son and one of the greatest rulers in India, Tipu Sultan. It is also called Red Garden.

Lal Bagh is built after the style of the Mughal gardens and is one the best in South India. The area this botanical garden covers is 240 acres. The main attraction here is the renowned Glass House the preserves the largest collection of tropical plants in India. Lal Bagh also boasts of a lake and an aquarium and it holds an impressive collection of 1000 plant species.
